Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American-Canadian singer-songwriter. Her work has been featured on over 20 albums of studio work. DiFranco categorizes her music as folk-rock and alternative. But it includes influences like hip-hop, punk and jazz. Ani DiFranco, widely regarded as the feminist's icon, and Grammy award-winning musician is thought to be to be the first creator in DIY music. It was one of the very first musicians to establish their own labels in 1990. DiFranco was a born on the 23rd of September, 1970, in Buffalo New York. Her parents were Elizabeth (Ross), from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Dante Americo DiFranco. Both her parents were both of Montreal origin. Ani Difrasco wrote and recorded the hit song "32 Flavors". The song is from her album Not a Pretty Girl, that was her sixth studio release. A variation of the song is featured in the soundtrack to 1999's Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco has since apologized after it was discovered that she was scheduled to hold an event for three days in an Louisiana ex-slave plantation. Although she cancelled the workshop however, a lot of participants (including the authors of our article) did not see any remorse. DiFranco issued an additional apology only a few days later. The single was released in 1972 by American pop group Looking Glass. Elliot Lurie wrote the song. The band also has a musician and vocalist for Looking Glass.
